Singing in the Rain

When I was younger that song was not so deep. "Singin' in the rain, just singin' inthe rain. What a wonderful feeling..." The idea is pretty absurd when you think about it. To actually be singing in the rain takes a little craziness. This afternoon I was waiting for the bus to get home and got caught in a rainstorm. I felt sprinkles and headed under a tree, thinking the light shower would blow over. Boy was I wrong! A few minutes later and the rain was falling hard. It must have been pretty sad to the folks driving down Main Street -- a guy in a wheelchair soaked under a tree in front of an Edward Jones office. All the while I was under that tree, in the rain, I wrestled the feelings that would have made me bitter or hopeless. Instead, I enjoyed the situation, hoping someone might help, but just ready to get home. It was like Gene Kelly in "Singin' in the Rain" for me. As a believer at peace with God Almighty with the understanding every day holds mysteries from Him, I don't let a lot of tings get under my skin. Today was an example. Now, I know the song is a love song to a gal, but it should make sense on a spiriual level:
Why am I smiling And why do I sing? Why does September Seem sunny as spring? Why do I get up Each morning and start? Happy and head up With joy in my heart Why is each new task A trifle to do? Because I am living A life full of you.

So, in spite of being soaked a guy stopped and helped me catch my ride and I made it home. There was a wait to get out of my clothes and I was ready to call it a day. However, with all of this, "I am living a life full of" God almighty. That's what helps me sing in the rain.

It's a good thing you didn't start singing out loud. That may have cancelled out the help you got! Just kidding, I continue to be blown away by you. :) Glad you're back to lassoing small children. Have a great week!!
