Missin' Home

This week I'm officially stating it: I'm HOMESICK! It's funny saying that because we moved around so much growing up that I never really had a home, then there was Pinellas county. After living there 12 years the place grew on me. Someone once told me we think of the place we graduateed as home. Maybe. Some of my best friends live in Pinellas county. We have so many memories together. Most of them are married, some even have (or are soon to have) kids. Several have moved off, but come back for visits. I miss those relationships. Just hanging out watching football and scarfing some wings, 12 guys in one house playing Medal of Honor, goofin' around at the coffee house, or going to a movie are some of the best times I've had with my buds. So it's been a change here in East Texas without all of that. Don't get me wrong. I really like this town and look forward to cool things like helping in my church, visiting with my friends, and getting my teaching certificate (starting next spring). It's nice to be in a cozy town with character and charm (sounds like a brochure, huh?). Yesterday I spent a few hours sorting through my photos that have been sitting in shoeboxes for too long. It reminded me of so many good times. One of these days I'll get them into an album. Then I can go through those memories often. It may bring a little ache. But going back to those memories is a great thing. At times, my heart just wants that familiar feeling when I knew I was home.

Ah, the shoebox :)
I have shoebox moments once in a while, except my shoebox is Google. We miss you down here! You planning on visiting any time soon or do we need to stage another wedding? Glad you still think of Lar-Ghetto as home! Distance makes the heart grow fonder for sure.

I was just at my Mom's today. It still feels like home even though I still love having my own home with my wife and son. Glad I'm not the only sentimental guy out there.

You're invited to the LAN party on Saturday.

We do enjoy visiting you here (now that your Mom told us where it is), but we still like for you to come home to Arkansas. Once again you have made your aunt, your mother, and your grandmother cry. We are so proud of you! You are still our inspiration. We love you and are looking forward to your next trip home to Arkansas.
