Artistic Desktop Wallpaper

Over the years I've wrestled with the best desktop wallpapers. Some I've made for myself, some downloaded or the Windows default images, at times I've just gone with no wallpaper.

Lately I've enjoyed having the work of Claude Monet as my wallpaper. Monet was a nineteenth-century impressionist painter who worked to recreate the way light reflects off colors and surfaces. His work is detailed and takes time to absorb and appreciate. That's why I've enjoyed using the images provided at profend.com the past two months.

With a monthly calendar and well-sized image, the desktop backgrounds are tasteful, convenient, and -- when I take time to appreciate it -- thought-provoking.

Check them out for yourself. While there, visit the Wikipedia link about Monet and the Impressionist movement.
